Pedimented Portico

Frederick --
This pretty marble Pedimented Portico is located on Church Street as the old Office entrance for the Farmers and Mechanics Bank. This beautiful old building is a Greco Roman Revival style of architecture and is most impressive. The Greeks used the pediment on the temples to honor their gods. The Romans copied the style and also honored citizens of high standing Look closely and one can see in the reflection the photographer in the midst of the portico below the pediment ... ;-)
