Janes Austen Display

The Frederick Library today had a special central display for Jane Austen and her works. I've enjoyed reading her for the past few years and watching films of her works such as Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, and Emma. Why the resurgent interest and appreciation of her works? Perhaps Miss Austen said it best,

"Let other pens dwell on guilt and misery. I quit such odious subjects as soon as I can, impatient to restore everybody, not greatly in fault themselves, to tolerable comfort and to have done with all the rest"

Fall Flowers

I came across a neighbor's flowering bush with these very pretty red flowers on a photo walk. I have been looking for some interesting fall shots, but fall is not at its peak here. This was a rather nice surprise. The bush is an old one, probably at least 12' in diameter and trimmed to about 6' along Rosemont.

Happy New Year (fiscal)
