Sunday Morning ARising

This weekend's photo assignment is "good morning." For this shot there was little prep. I did use flash as there is little only low natural light with the overcast skies so early. I awake in Zetta's 3/4 bed she bought from a friend in Beattyville a few years ago, which I brought to Carroll Creek. It was probably made in the 30s. One will not find the old springs nor a mattress in stores or even on the internet any longer. I searched high and low. I built a strong mattress platform of 1x4s that sits snugly between the bed rails an have a aerobed upon it which fits perfectly. I recall that Daddy had an old 3/4 bed at the lake in Harrodsburg and may have had a special-order mattress. The emblem behind my head is an oval with a vase, but the entire oval is painted brown so that it is not readily recognizable. There is another at the foot rail which I will probably paint as a project.
