It took me a minute this morning to locate our dumpster. Here it is sitting catawampus with all the trees knocked down. I think someone must have discarded some old Oreos and the Cookie Monster attacked last night. From long-legged beasties good Lord deliver us!

Cold Culler
A pretty snow-covered Culler lake just across from my Carroll Creek abode. I wonder if the temperatures will ever support ice skating again as enjoyed in years long past

My First Sidearm
1972. Colt M1911A1 45 cal ACP. 2nd Battalion 502nd Infantry. Qualified annually through about 1980 as Expert. 1992 I carried the M9 Beretta 9mm - Expert. I do believe the time is near to reacquaint myself with this epic piece or one just like it

A Pause to Remember the Fallen
Confederate soldiers uncover at the sound of taps. Before them in blue is the contingent of Union reenactors "slain" before the stone wall at Mayre's Heights. Lee is quoted there as saying

A Face of Determination
Fredericksburg -- Sunday 9 December I celebrated at Holy Communion and bid friends prayers of remembrance for the thousands on both sides who fell for their causes 150 years before. That afternoon I made my way towards the sunken road. I watched columns of Union troops march ever onward and captured this one face in the formation which struck me as the epitome of the sense of purpose that day and 150 years ago (Yashica FX-3 Super 400 ASA Fujifilm)
