Fencing Classes

Last fall I joined my son for a few days for some work on a pretty little backyard fence. For me it was OJT (on the job training). I didn't know they had "Fencing Classes)

Turn Turn Turn

Seasonal change is manifested by this plant in our Carroll Creek garden. One notes that it bears the pods and green leaves of spring and the auburn leaves of fall. Taken through a heavy fog early on my walk to work -- Laos Deo

Bradford Pears in Bloom

Carroll Creek. Shot taken from inside the Covered Bridge. All along the creek and park one finds the trees in bloom. These Bradford Pear Trees (five or so) grow on the south side of the creek about the bridge. I note there are plenty of photographers out taking advantage of nature's annual wake up. We have enjoyed very warm temperatures here reaching over 80 degrees

Kegs and Eggs

I learned of this tradition which is famous in Albany NY and now here. Kegs & Eggs. The breakfast of Irish Champions. Guinness Stout- eggs-French Toast-bacon. Before breakfast, my prayer was St Patrick's Breastplate. May the road rise up to meet you and all the blessings be upon you this day from this O'Carroll

Angelo of the Air Force

This evening after a stroll and capturing a few choice photos, I walked back home toting a poke with half a sub--the $5 footlong special for March, a toasted Tuna. As I walked by the tennis courts at Baker Park a fellow dressed in an old olive drab field jacket with his cart trailing behind him hailed me and asked for a dollar. I responded that I would give him half a sub. He said it was better than nothing. I then asked what he had asked for, and he said $1. I gave him $5 and a blessing. I noted his jacket and asked if he was a veteran. He said yes and showed me his GI sleeping bag too. He said he had been in the air force for 45 years and he was 58 years old :). He opened his wallet and in the ID slot he showed me his ID -- a torn piece of old cloth that had the USAF and wings on it. I wished him well and safety after we exchanged names and admonished him to spend his $5 well.

Molly's meanderings

I feel a bit like Molly this day while I meander about Frederick making photos. It is great weather for it. The internet service reported a high of 79 degrees. I saw one lady pretending to sun bathe in Baker Park at 5:30pm. The streets are full of folk out an about taking advantage of this pleasant spell. It is sure to change as we are not quite half through March
